Brow lifts may also improve wrinkles between the eyes, crow’s feet, or horizontal lines. Patients with these concerns are improved with a brow lift.

What Happens During Surgery?

Your brow lift surgery will last between one and two hours and will be conducted with local or general anesthesia depending on the extent of surgery and your personal needs.

After the face is cleansed thoroughly, and the hair is tied back securely. Dr. Hoffman will make one larger incision or in the endoscopic method, several very small incisions behind the hairline. The forehead skin will then be lifted. The muscles and tissues will then be affected to create a smoother more youthful appearance. The brows are elevated and secured with sutures placed under the skin, or absorbable screws. Stitches or staples are then used to close the incisions.

Recovery and Results

Most patients are able to return to their normal routines between seven to ten days after surgery. Bruising and scabs will be mostly gone after three weeks. The results of your brow lift can last between five to ten years.

During your consultation, Dr. Hoffman can explain the details of recovery and what you can expect. It is normal for brow lift patients to experience numbness, nausea, incision discomfort and mild swelling. You should limit rigorous activity for several weeks and sun exposure for several months. During follow-up appointments, removable stitches and staples will be removed.
