alloClae® Body and Breast Contouring in Villanova and Philadelphia
Targeted Volume Without Liposuction
alloClae® is a non-surgical structural adipose tissue treatment designed to restore targeted volume where fat naturally exists. Made from donated human fat tissue, it can help refine breast shape and symmetry, soften hip dips, improve contour irregularities, and add subtle volume without harvesting the patient’s own fat through liposuction.
Main Line Institute of Plastic Surgery offers both alloClae® and traditional fat grafting. Both treatments can add volume, but they use different sources of adipose tissue. When a patient has enough suitable fat to harvest, our surgeons generally recommend traditional fat grafting. alloClae® may be considered when a patient does not have sufficient donor fat or wants an option that does not require liposuction.
alloClae® vs Traditional Fat Grafting
Traditional fat grafting removes fat from one area of the patient’s body through liposuction, processes it, and transfers it to an area that needs additional volume. alloClae® does not use the patient’s own fat. It is a sterile structural adipose tissue allograft made from donated human fat tissue and is placed in areas where fat naturally exists.
- No donor-site liposuction is required for alloClae®
- May be appropriate for select patients with limited donor fat
- Provides targeted volume in breast and body treatment areas
- Can be performed in the office for appropriate candidates
- Requires little downtime for many patients
Both options can restore volume and improve contour. The recommended approach depends on whether the patient has enough suitable fat to harvest, the treatment area, the desired degree of correction, medical history, and personal goals. Dr. Hoffman or Dr. Karon will explain which option is most appropriate during the consultation.
Where alloClae® May Be Used
Depending on the patient’s anatomy and treatment goals, alloClae® may be used to restore or refine volume in several breast and body areas.
- Breasts: Add modest volume, improve symmetry, refine cleavage contours, or soften visible implant rippling.
- Hip Dips: Smooth indentations and create a more balanced transition between the waist and thighs.
- Buttocks: Add subtle volume and refine gluteal contours.
- Contour Irregularities: Improve select areas of unevenness or volume loss, including irregularities following liposuction.
What to Expect During Treatment
For appropriate patients, alloClae® can be placed in the office using local anesthesia. Because the product is supplied ready for use, no donor-site liposuction or fat-harvesting procedure is required. The treatment plan, amount used, appointment length, and recovery will depend on the areas being treated and the patient’s goals.
- No donor-site liposuction
- Immediate targeted volume
- Little downtime for many patients
- Treatment customized to the patient’s anatomy
- Results and recovery vary by patient
Immediate Natural Looking Volume
alloClae® is made from donated human adipose tissue and contains non-viable adipocytes, extracellular matrix, lipids, and connective tissue. It is intended to provide cushioning and structural support in areas where fat naturally exists.
Targeted volume is visible immediately following treatment. Results can be lasting, although longevity varies based on the patient, treatment area, and lifestyle.
Who May Be a Candidate for alloClae®
alloClae® may be considered for adults seeking targeted breast or body volume who do not have enough suitable fat for transfer or who prefer an option that does not require liposuction. Patients with sufficient donor fat may be better candidates for traditional fat grafting.
Candidacy must be determined through an in-person consultation. The surgeon will review the patient’s anatomy, health history, available donor fat, treatment goals, and the benefits and limitations of both options.
Important Safety Considerations
alloClae® should not be used in patients with an active infection, severe allergen sensitivities, or a history of anaphylaxis. Potential complications may include pain, infection, hematoma, cysts or nodules, allergic or immune responses, and skin discoloration at the treatment site.
During the consultation, the surgeon will review the patient’s medical history, candidacy, expected recovery, and the potential risks and limitations of treatment. Individual experiences and results vary.
